Nottingham Located right in the heart of Nottingham (within the Victoria Centre), The Victoria Market is a treasure trove of eclectic items from specialist food stalls (ranging from authentic Caribbean cuisine to the delicious local culinary favourite of mushy peas with mint sauce!), the meat & fish market, flowers, lace, clothing, CDs and books. There’s always a good atmosphere at this impressive indoor market. Food lovers should head to the newly redeveloped Old Market Square on the third Friday and Saturday of every month for the Nottingham Regional Food Market. East Midlands Fine Foods have teamed up with Nottingham City Council to bring top quality food and drink from local producers to the monthly markets. Mansfield The bustling 700-year-old open market is the hub of the town and operates six days a week. Elsewhere, the Buttercross Square is a small market place on West Gate in Mansfield. Historically, this was the original market place in Mansfield and a place of public speaking. It is now used to host the monthly farmers market and the overspill of stalls on full market days. The Old Market Cross is located here. A 16th century monument, its sundial has been restored with a reproduced water pump. The cross marks the spot of this historic trading venue. Antique, craft and bric-a-brac markets are held here on Mondays and Thursdays. Newark also hosts a farmers market on the fourth Thursday of every month. Open air markets You'll find open air markets in Bingham on Thursdays and in Southwell on Saturdays. Retford's market is open on Thursdays and Saturdays.
