In the scrum: Nottingham Rugby Football Club Promotion to National League One in 2004 marked the start of a promising new era in Nottingham Rugby Football Club's 130 year history. The team has managed to retain this status and is hoping to make a push for the Guinness Premier League. The club is based at the Lady Bay ground in West Bridgford. All teams with the exception of the First XV play there. But for the 2006-2007 season all of the First XV home games are being held at Notts County’s Meadow Lane. Attracting regular crowds of around 1,500 people, Nottingham RFC has produced numerous international players - including Brian Moore (Nottingham RFC’s first British Lion). Today, it benefits from a strong support network of senior male, female, youth and mini rugby involving boys and girls as young as four years old from the local area. < back to Sports Regular sporting fixtures Check out the What's on calendar for special fixtures such as championships and larger competitions.
