Romping home: horseracing in Nottinghamshire

One of only two racecourses in Britain to offer all-weather, flat turf and jump racing, Southwell Racecourse offers racing every month of the year. Among its first-class facilities, the racecourse boasts an 18-hole golf course and 12-bedroom motel on site.

Conveniently located, Nottingham Racecourse offers 21 days of top quality flat racing from March to November. The wide range of facilities available at the course includes the Centenary Stand and Grandstand both boasting superb views and welcoming bars and restaurants.

High octane: motor racing in Nottinghamshire

Just 20 miles from Nottingham, Donington Park is a major international Grand Prix class motor racing venue. Hosting race meetings for cars and motorcycles throughout the season, this is one of Europe’s busiest and most prestigious motor racing facilities.

Donington Park is more than simply a Grand Prix circuit. It is also home to the Donington Grand Prix Collection (the world’s largest collection of Grand Prix cars), 150 corporate hospitality suites and numerous exhibition and conference facilities spread around the 600-acre site. The park’s natural amphitheatre also makes the circuit a perfect venue for large music festivals and stadium-sized concerts.

Donington Park boasts excellent connections: only three miles from the major trunk routes of the M1, M42 and A50. East Midlands Airport: Nottingham, Leicester, Derby is less than three miles away.

Going to the dogs: greyhound racing in Nottinghamshire

The home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is situated just two miles from the city centre and only a mile from Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.

Voted ‘Central Region Racecourse of the Year’ by the British Greyhound Racing Board for 1998-1999 and also 2001-2002, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium hosts some of greyhound racing’s most prestigious events such as the Eclipse, the Select Stakes and the Puppy Classic. With racing every Monday, Thursday and Saturday evening throughout the year, the thrills and excitement of top quality greyhound racing are constantly available.

The facilities at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium include Tote betting, three licensed bars, on-course bookmakers, off-course betting facility, ample free off-road car parking, indoor seating & viewing (not reserved), live closed circuit TV coverage of racing, and major sporting events shown on TVs throughout the stadium.
