Sporting chances Whether you’re a participant or spectator, Nottinghamshire is a major sporting county with plenty to keep the adrenaline flowing. For participants, we have 42 sports and leisure centres across the county (in fact, the city of Nottingham provides more facilities per head of population than anywhere else in Europe). Meanwhile, spectators can enjoy world-class sporting entertainment at venues like Trent Bridge (cricket), City Ground (football), the National Ice Centre, Nottingham Racecourse, National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont and the Nottingham Tennis Centre. Sport Nottinghamshire is the County Sports Partnership for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
